This blue heart

Purple mountains' majesty beneath a sun dipped crystal river blue. My heart. My home. Everything centered. Everything beating to the swell of shivering gold flecked leaves and dusted green pines. Sit now. Breathe. The dogs may bark and older children curse with glee only because thier parents aren't home. There may be garbage in the ditches and growing vandals down the street but sit now. Breathe now. The ravens glide and mimmick. The hawk scans the hill. A nuthatch skips against gravity down the trunk of a swaying tree. The mountains rise to kiss the clouds and sigh a wind swept puff of snow. The winds finally meet me. Swirl and taunt me. Tiny hands then wrap around my neck to find warmth beneath my hair. Little whispers in my ear. Mama, shhhhhhhh? A raven feather sails from the skies landing in her hair. I see her. She is radiant in the cold. She should be flying. The wind takes the feather and I take my baby inside from the cold.
